The Warring States Period (475--221 BC) was an era of great conflict and creativity. Classical China had fragmented into seven rival kingdoms, each vying for supremacy. The aristocratic familiarity that rival kingdoms shared during the prior Spring & Autumn Period devolved into all-out war, and it was during this era that the timeless classic "Art of War" was written. The Warring States would last until 221 BC, when the Qin State (秦國) eventually conquered the states to establish the Qin Dynasty, which is broadly acknowledged as the first unified Chinese empire.
The reflex-deflex shape of this bow series is inspired by the bows of the Dangyang Caojiagang (當陽曹家港) Tombs of the Chu State (楚國).
